I had a short personal story I wanted to tell, it felt too raw and off kilter to even attempt to mutate into a palatable / commercially viable film product… so I wrote the film to be as self contained / technically achievable with the tools I had to hand. I’m working from the boards I drew, shooting the scenes in a paint by numbers sorta fashion entirely on my lonesome between my home and the neighbouring mountains. The film in its current state is rough and fragmented but its growing frame by frame. It’s messy, I’m enjoying the mess… more soon.

'Holiday Body' is a 'body horror' based around the concept of trauma surrogates, and the extremes we take to avoid loneliness. Starting life as a shortlisted script for the Sundance Screenwriters Lab, subsequently becoming the alternate universe I use as my daily escape from the global trauma that’s pummeling our collective consciousness.
